Silver Grey Rubio Monocoat in Chicago

Recently we were called in to sand and finish a floor in a brand new complex in the city. The client wanted to use Rubio Monocoat but the company installing the floors didn’t have experience with the product so they got in touch with us.

The other company did a wonderful job with the install, which made the project much easier for us. Once the install was finished we got stuck into sanding and finishing it.

The color that was eventually decided on was Silver Grey. We have another project we posted about where we used this color as well (Silver Grey Fumed) but this time we didn’t use the fuming process on the floors.

So now you get to see the Silver Grey color in its natural state.

Below are some pictures of the finished job…

And thankfully not too close up 🙂

We really like the look of this floor. It’s turning out to be one of the most popular colors from the vast Rubio Monocoat color collection.

If you’d like to do something similar to your floors, get in touch with us and we’ll be more than happy to discuss your options.

What type of wood is the Silver Gray Rubio MC in Chicago?

    Hi Tadas,

The floors look great! We are considering White Monocoat finish for our flooring project.

Based on your experience, do you know if the Monocoat finish has *any* sheen / luster at all or is completely flat? The pics above suggest a slight sheen ..?

    • Hi Sundeep,

      It’s a pretty flat finish.

The light coming in from the windows make the sheen look a bit different than in real life. The sheen in the stair picture is more realistic.

I’d definitely suggest seeing a sample before committing.
